Hello,

Need some feedback on a issue I am having. I've deployed an Avaya G430 Media Gateway with LSP in Dallas. The core is in NJ. The MPLS is Windstream. The LSP comes up fine but the 430 does not. I can ping the the Windstream router, the LSP, and the gateway from the core with a 45ms response. We originally thought it was hardware so we got another 430 and same issue.

At a loss and hopefully someone has had a similar experience and could provide some insight on what I should be looking at.

Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the 430 is plugged directly to the Windstream router (no other equipment in between).

is your mgc list setup correctly in the G430?
are you using PE or CLANs at the core?
What Version of CM are you running?

Update: We are using PE at the core site. MGC list verified to be correct with correct PE IP address. We were able to get the G430 to register when using a CLAN address at the core but it wont register with the PE address. Vendor is going to Avaya tier III. Both the CLAN test and PE are on the same subnet and VLAN at the core.

x2. Sounds like PE is not enabled. "add ip-interface procr".

-CL

Update: Problem solved.

Resolution was having to add a static route for the new network the G450 is on. Those routes are set under the "configure server" tab in the HTTP window of both servers. Once we added the static route the gateway came right up.
