Hello to all. I've a G430 at a remote location and the users are complaining of dropped calls. The gateway is practically new in that we've had it for a while but didn't have a need for it until recently. I see no alarms or anything pointing to a problem other than the user complaints. Are there any tests or diagnostics that I can run that may tell me what's going on with it? Thanks In Advance.

Need a little more info, are the users on IP or digital phones, what kind of trunking is in the G450, CO trunk, T1..?

Is all the firmware in the gateway up to date..?

TDM sets, firmware is up to date. No local trunking they use the trunks off of my core location.

What kind of network do you have between sites? that's the first place I would check, if know one at the main site is having issues, then I would suspect something is wrong with the network between the remote and main sites.

I don't think it's a network issue. I've got 26 gateways all over town, this is the only one reporting these issues. I replaced a G700 that was there originally, never had any reported issues with calls....

Check switch ports for errors...

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

CM 5.2.1, joe2938, what's making you believe it's a network issue?

because you have to traverse the network to make your calls and they are dropping, the most common cause of these type of issues are network related

I've seen exactly whats happening at this site and its been the network. How do you have the network port setup, Full duplex / 100mb, make sure they match

Maybe get a data sniffer of some kind on the network
