Hi all,

I need some information regarding upgrading/migrating from CM 1.1 to 5.2.
Current configuration:
- G700 (MM720 & MM711) as ICC (s8300 - A or B, don't know yet)
- G700 (MM720) as LSP
- IP user licence for 50 users.

They have 46xx phones right now, which would like to keep for now, but later migrate to 16xx/96xx series phones.

Future configuration:
They would like to upgrade system to 150 user licence ( they need about 70 IP licences)
To upgrade current release (CM 1.1) to CM5.2 is complete non-sense, beacuse of the cost.

I was thinking to offer them new G430 /w S8300D as ICC and LSP on the same location, but ASD doesn't give an option for LSP on same location.
When I enter Location 2, I can enter LSP.

I'm not 100% sure, so I'm asking you if anyone had similar configuration - could this work?

Any help appriciated

VanZenden, this will work. I have seen other customers with a stack of G700's for example with 2 S8300's residing in the stack one being the main server and one acting as an LSP. You would just configure everything normally as far as the MGC list as you would if the LSP was at a remote location, only difference being is that your LSP is really on the same subnet as your main system.

Yes this will work, the algorithm for this is that, if main server fails it will look for another system that can continue the call processing.

I have several sites with 2 G700's and 2 S8300's, one primary and one LSP. It works just fine.

for G700 I know it works. Was asking about G430 which it seems also works ... that was my worry.

We set this up all the time, as long as they are S-Series gateways it will work, they can even be different models as well. G700's, G450's, G430's, G250's, G350's, all work, even on the same site. You just use a unique IP for the LSP.
