My company recently moved. Before we left we had Centrex lines running into the emergency power failure unit. When you called the main number it would ring at the attendant console and at an analog phone. Since we moved we now just have pots lines coming in and it will ring the analog phone but not the attendant console. Should the power light be lit on the powerfailure unit(I can't remember if it was or not)? Also, all the dip switches were to set to ground start, but the trunk groups are set to loop start and Verizon says that the old setup for centrex was loop start, the new setup is loop start, but with the dip switches set at ground start like they used to be it will ring one ring and then go to fast busy. Is it possible the centrex were doing some kind of funky conversion or something? An Avaya tech is coming out next week, but I don't have the utmost confidence since they tore it down and set it back up during the move(You'd think for $11K it would work...) Any thoughts? I'd appreciate any help!!!!

When the Emergency Transfer Panel is 'normal' (not in transfer) the red LED should be lit indicating that there is power to the unit. In the event of loss of power or a service affecting alarm power is removed, the internal relays release, and the trunks are directly connected to the stations. The ETP receives power from the AUX cable that comes from the control carrier (Black/Blue pair).

Thanks, so the power goes from pair 11 on the aux block to.. where?

What transfer panel do you have (Porta Systems or Lucent/Avaya)?

Kevin

Thanks for all your help! I think the transfer unit is bad.
