G3SI 9.2 upgrade to S8700 CMS 2.0.1 1

We will be upgrading our G3SI to CMS 2.0.1. Right now we have 30 or so IP softphones and 60 or so IP hardphones. My question is once we upgrade will the media extensions on the phones now cause problems once we upgrade? Or will it be fine and at our leisure remove the media extensions? Just some last minute worries.

It will be fine, just remove them once you get upgraded..

You shouldn't have a problem at all, the only thing is that when the system is being upgraded the IP phones will go down until the upgrade is done. After the upgrade is done to CM 2.0 the IP phones should automatically come back..

I agree with all the other posts, your stations will work fine. But remove them and add them as single connect stations because they save you on available ports. Before in 9.2 you need dual connect, ie 2 stations to make an IP station work. When you go to S8700 you only need one station to make you're stations work. So add station x, and make it a 4624 or whatever and it only uses up one port on your disp cap or display system parameters customer-options form.
