what is the command to set the sync source ona G350 CM5.1. it used to be chan sync, but now it's not there, i heard it may be from the cli.

telnet (or SSH, if you have not run "ip telnet") to the G350

"set sync interface primary v4" (if your MM710 T1/PRI is in slot 4)
"set sync source primary"

you can see if its working with:

"show sync timing"

example below is a G450, G350 and G700 are the same.
--------------------------------------------------------
Client-G450-001(super)# set sync interface primary v4
Done!
Client-G450-001(super)# set sync source primary
Done!
Client-G450-001(super)# show sync timing

SOURCE MM STATUS FAILURE
--------- ------------------- ----------------------- ---------------
Primary v4 Active None
Secondary Not Configured
Local v0 Standby None

Active Source: v4 Sync Source Switching: Enabled

Done!
Client-G450-001(super)#

no problem, don't forget to do a "copy running-config startup-config" to save the change you made, so it shows up after the next reboot/power down.

where do i find the ip addy to telnet to the root level? i do go shell from the sat interface, but then i cant get to the g350 cli

list media-gateway will show the G350 IP address. once in the shell telnet to the address. You'll need the root login and password.

Yes, "list media" will show the IP of the G350, so will "display media 1".
