can you ping the lsp? is the system licensed correctly, i think the times have to be close. sometime a reboot helps. is the lsp active or in stand by?

ACE IP Telephony
ACS IP Office

Yes I can ping it and I rebooted it a few times. I'm able to ping it from my 8710 Clan board.

The translation are actually sent over the corporate interface of the active S8710 server. Can you ping it from the server. They are sent using FTP so that port needs to opened on any network firewalls. Also I have seen that if the network MTU size is lower than about 1470 then it will not work as the packets are sent tagged as "DF" (do not fragment).

Try a large ping with packet size of 1480 from the server.

Depending on your network you may have to set a static ip route on the s8710

There is a G700 with a 8300 registered on this PBX as well and the translations get sent over the network fine.

Call avaya they will patch your system so the mix matched software loads will sync.
they will try to manually ftp the file over to the lsp meanwhile, depending on who you get will determine how fast it is resolved.

i know the book says that the lsp must be greater or the same but i have only been able to sync them when they are the same. otherwise i get avaya involved and they make it work.

Most common reasons LSP will not sync
1) Wrong software version (ie. main newer then LSP)
2) Wrong patches on the LSP they all need to match
3) Wrong size of memory selected for the LSP
4) Firewall blocking the translation ports
5) problem was with the lenght (size) of the MTU packets configured in the router

Guys thanks for all your help. I needed to add the primary and back up 8710 IP address in the 8300 configure server tab and it worked fine. Thanks again.
