Hi-

New to these forums...

We have a 350 in an remote office connected via an MPLS/WAN router to our G700 here.
The G350 was disconnected - had a bad Cisco Switch and swapped out.

Could not access G350 or do not know the network on the console connection to properly shutdown - had to pull power plug.
When G350 was powered back up the switch port was intermittently flashing orange - not green - we cannot connect or ping the G350 now.

Pretty sure our switch config is correct - copied via TFTP and configured on port1(EXT2 - local LAN?) same as our G700 in our cisco switch here.
Could we have a bad internal EXT2/LAN NIC/ethernet?

How can we access the G350 thru the Console port or other means - find more details out somehow?
Access the switch thru the local LAN port(EXT2) via a PC on same LAN - cross over or hub?
Thanks for any help.

Best option is to connect to the g350 with a avaya console cable on the console port and check port 10/3 settings.

Hi Montyzummer-

Ok - I understand connecting an Avaya cable to console port.
But, what do you mean by "check port 10/3 settings" - assume that refers to when we connect to Integrated Mgmnt - Web Admin or get serial access thru console port?

We are unsure what the network is set to or how to get a connection on the Console port.
Thanks for your quick response.

If the g350 has a LSP in it and you can connect and login to the s8300, you can telnet 127.1.1.11 to login to the g350 across the backplane fabric.

If in the g350 you can telent 127.1.1.31 to get to the LSP

If telnet does not work you may be able to use ssh root@127.1.1.11 to get to the g350 from the installed LSP. From the g350 use ssh dadmin@127.1.1.31 to get to the installed s8300

Port 10/3 will be your lan interface on the g350 , so when you connect either by the method i have suggested or the suggested method above, you will be at the cli interface of the gateway , from there type "show ip interface" this will give you the ip information for all ip devices and what vlan they are a member of etc. Also you can type "show voip" this will give you more confirmation and also advise of any faults. Also "show fault" if any are active...........hope this helps

When connecting on the console port you need to use hyperterminal or similar (baud 9600 , 8 none , 1) hit enter , user name is root , password (you guys should know this if not there is a way round), from there you can follow the above process

Thanks guys for the responses - sorry for the late reply.
My co-worker has traveled is at the remote site - has been working on this issue now.
He connected to the Services port on G350(Not the 8300?) and was able to get into the device - but, we were trying to figure out if we had a hardware or software issue.
There were alarms but I have been out of the loop now and will find out more and try to post back w/ more details.
We called in a vendor to help w/ possible HW issue.
Appreciate the info!
