When creating a call forward button on a station the only option I have is for an extension. If set the phone to forward to station that had coverage would it use the coverage? Or would it be double coverage?

This is what I am trying to accomplish.

Call from out bound goes to DID IE/station. Station is in call-forward mode-> Next station picks up and goes direct to coverage. Coverage calls outbound to pilot number/1-800 to our other pbx, holds call until dropped.

I have also disable the feature access code in the past because users hit the button for send all calls. Does this tie in to the station feature for send calls?

When testing I just hear a busy out.

We have a Fujitsu system in another location and we can hit forward then a system speed dial that we have created in the system to accomplish the same thing I want.

If someone can tell me how to get point A-B or a better method I would very happy.

Thanks in advance.

We have a similar system at work, and I know we tried something like this in the past. Let me check our stuff and I'll get back to you.

Forwarding will not follow the coverage path of the station that you forward to.

When you add a button, there is an option to hard-code it with a station, but if you leave it empty, then the user can input the number to forward to themsleves. When they press the call-fwd button, they will hear dial tone. Then they would just dial the number they want to forward to.

This can include off-net numbers (such as 1-800 numbers) if your PBX will allow it. If it is not allowed, then you could give the user a seperate COS that will override the restriction to Call Fwd Off Net.

If you forward to an extension within your pbx the original coverage path is followed. By original Coverage I mean the coverage path of the DID that was dialed from the outside. If you forward off net, ie the 800 number, then the call is handled however the off net call treats it. The PBX no longer has "control" of the call.

something else to remember Send Calls overrides forward. if a station is set to forward and someone activates send calls on that ext then coverage is followed not Forward.

And if i remember correctly you can't forward a forward. Example (If station A is set to forward to station B and station B is set to forward to station C then when you call station A and no one picks up the forwarded call at station B then the call reverts to Station A's coverage.)

Might be way too much info but I think that it answers the question. Unless of course it is all wrong. :)
