Is there a way to make a test out going call from the router? like a command that you could tell it to use 0/1/0 or something like that.

Under your gateway endpoints setup your port... Then set up a route pattern to access this the port... We use fxo ports for 911 call on remote routers and this works for us...

If it is MGCP you cannot initiate the call from the router. It has to be from call manager as it controls the router.
Follow what jeter wrote.

there is a CLI command in the router which is very helpful
csim start 9123

the above will make a call dialing 9123 - match a dial-peer and go out the relevant port.

csim start is an undocumented command but is a MUST for troubleshooting.

It is what it is!!

That's great but he is running MGCP on the router so that command won't work.

csim will work on any voice router, however if there are no dial-peers in then yes it will not work. No reason why a pots peer cannot be setup also just purely for testing.
