I have a Mag 17” LCD monitor; I installed an Nvidia FX 5600XT w/128mb memory video card,
the motherboard is an ASUS P4P800-Deluxe.
When I boot the PC I get no video until it gets to the Windows XP Startup Logo then everything works fine.
I cannot run the Windows 98 startup disk or anything that has to do with DOS, even Norton Ghost will show no video.
The card that was in the computer prior to the upgrade was an Nvidia TI 200 and everything worked fine.
If I connect an analog monitor to the PC everything is fine.
I also installed an FX 5200 video card and it did the same thing.
Is it possible that Nvidia FX video cards will not support my monitor or is the monitor at fault.
Is there a fix for this problem?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
ART

most LCD Monitors dont show the POST process, and the boot options as well...

That's not a bad error, its not even an error.

That happens always with most of the LCD monitors.
I can't tell you how to fix that cause i havent figured out yet. I'll let you know.

:)

I believe it has to do with the firmware of the FX5600 chipset??
All other Nvidia graphics cards seem to work fine so I guess I will have to find out the difference between the cards or find another 8X graphic card that will work with my LCD Monitor???

Thanks for the help,

I don't have a solution for you, but wanted to confirm your suspcion that somethings wrong.

I have two Samsung LCD flat screen monitors (SyncMaster 174v and 175v) and have used each of them on multiple computers.

I've used an ATI Radeon 9600 XT, Voodoo3, and a couple of other video cards that I can't remember right now.

Each of them shows POST and any DOS program I run from a boot disk. Also, my laptop LCD also shows POST and any DOS programs I run.

So, I also think there's a problem.
