I have IP Office 406 with 2.1.27 call forwarding when I dial an extension to offsite phone number.

This works as long as the party answers the phone at the remote end.

When the remote end does not pick up the call keeps ringing and the call will not go to voice mail.

If you call the phone number without using the forwarded extension from the phone system the voice mail picks up.

Appears the forwarding ring type is different? hmmm.
Please help.

If you look at the display in call status you will see that the call is cycling between ring, brief hold, then ring again. It is trying to send the call back to VMPro. You probably do not have voicemail enabled on his extension, so it just cycles every allocated answer time. Bump up the allocated answer time and it should do the trick.

I think I lead you the wrong direction by not explaining the voice mail that is not working is at the far end.

Basically when I dial using the extension forwarding the call is placed but the far end voice mail does not reconize the ring tones or something as it will not work.

I call the next time and the far end user picks up just fine.

I call directly without using the extension forwarding and the far end voice mail works.

I beleive the far end voice mail is a centrex service.

The call is ringing for the specified ringtime on the user/group that routers the call to the off site number. You need to increase the ringtime to be longer than the ring time on the remote number then you will either be answered or go to the remote VM if any. Just make sure you have your call flows setup so that increasing the ringtime doesnt impact on customers callflows that are working ok.

Soopa Doopa Intergalactic IP Office installation mechanic and configuration corruptor from way back.

I also ran into this.
Prior to 2.1.27 when I fwd calls unconditional to cell phones it would ring cell phone till someone answered or the cell phone VM picked up.
Now since upgrading It will only ring cell phone for the number of times the allocated ring time is set for...
Not sure if it was bug in past versions but, now it is a pain.. I have to go back and change either the system allocated ring time or the user's.

Calls should ring the user for the no answer time (alocated answer interval for those in Nort America).
the will then follow the users forward no answer for the no answerer time before recalling bck to the original user or local VM.

Your main options are :-

1) decrease the answer time at the destination
2) increase the no answer time on the user
3) Use local VM to record MSG's (maby use VM eMail to alert of msgs recieved)
