I have an MCD 5.0 customer with Paetec SIP trunking. Forwarding inbound calls out to cells works from land/cell lines. But inbound Skype calls do not forward out to cells. I'm assuming its an outbound SIP authentication failure do due caller id, but I'm not sure.

1) Do I need to create a network element for Skype?
2) Do I need some kind of Skype gateway?
3) Adjustment to a COS?

Any ideas appreciated.

How does Skype interface to the MCD?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

The Skype users appear to have accounts that allow them to dial actual phone numbers. They are calling DID's that come in via the Paetec SIP connection. That works fine, it's when the owner of the company forwards his deskphone to his cell. The inbound DID calls will not forward out to cells if originating from a Skype caller only.

Sorry to ask but if a normal incoming SIP trunk call is forwarded to the guys cell work? Only a Skype call can not be forwarded?

Yes, normal incoming SIP trunk calls forward to cells without issue.
