fwd number doesnt go to voice mail

i phone a number in our US office thats gets fwd to our canada office

the fwd works fine but when it goes to VM it goes back to the US office::: only when i put the canada phone in DND it goes to VM for canda, also when you phone localy to the canada office it has no problem going to VM after so many rings

What im trying to do is call the us office and then the call gets fwd to out canada phone and VM picks up for the canada phone when dialing the us number>>

The problem is the US VM is taking the call after the users no answer time has expired on the trasfered portion of the call before the VM at canada can answer. there are a number of options

1) diaable VM for the User on the US switch (best option if calls will always end up at canada VM)

2) set the no answer time on the US swich to be significantly greater then the no answer time at canada

Tired that but what happens then is the phone keeps ringing and ringing

if the vm is turned off on the US switch and the forwarded call continuously rings at remote site the issue is not with the US switch but rather the switch in Canada. Try calling the remote site directly and see if the vm picks up and how long it takes to do so

this would completly change the advice we are giving
