i have a bcm 400 4.0 that is having an issue with forwarding no answer. if both intercom keys are in use on the end users phone, when the third call comes in it rings forever instead of going to VM. if only one intercom key is being used, it rings 4 times then goes to VM. the prime set on the target lines are set to the extensions they should fwd if busy.

any ideas?

thanks in advance

I'd noticed the same thing but have not received an answer from other SME's. (Subject Matter Expert...so much for ITIL Reference Library from clearly stating area of expertise in it's nomenclature.)

If you try and include a FWD BUSY to voicemail then all it takes is just one intercom appearance in use to send the second call to voicemail immediately, regardless of the number of appearances of the target line.

thats the problem. i did that and now they are upset because they cant receive a second call. hopefully someone out there has some info on what will fix this issue.

If the call is coming from AA does it go back to the user's mailbox?

If this is an external call check the number of line apperances of the target line. Set the prime set for the target line to the dn where you want it to ring. That one's burned me before.

Prime set for the target line is the ext. number its supposed to ring at. i did not try having it come out of AA. And the line appearances is set to 2 as that is how many IC keys i have assigned to the phone.

RE: gberger. AA transfers: That would only happen if the transfer recall timer was engaged and shorter than the number of rings on the Fwd no answer ring setting for the DN. I had to set all of ours to none on the system settings

subject dog.
I tried programming it six ways to Sudbury on 400 and 450 For a system that can use Release Link Trunking on a PRI it still acts like a key system.

OK.. Fix it this way:

Have the Auto Attendant answer the target line in question after 12 rings.

Tell me if it works, then I will tell you why it worked.

Neat.
I use DID - PRI.
I busy out my DN with two calls-two intercom paths. It doesn't matter whether or not I have 2 or 3 Target Line appearances. The third call gets dead air (normally calls fwd no answer to my voicemail)

If I program the Target Line on the AA to answer after 15 rings, it goes to the AA Greeting Table not my voicemail.

Hmmm.. OK.. Try this..

If the Rcvd Digit length is the same as the DN Length, set the prime set to the VM DN. If the Rcvd Digits do not match the mailbox number, add the rcvd digits as an alternate extension in the voice mailbox.

All are.
DID - receive 4 Digits,
DN - 4 Digits
Prime - 4 Digits.
Mailbox numbers 4 Digits.

If I try to enter the number as an alternate I get...
"No two extensions among Primary extension and Alternate extensions must be the same."
