Hello Guys,

I've worked with quite a few different forum's over the past couple of years, all based in PHP, such as WowBB and phpBB.

I've been looking for somthing more heavyweight for my current CF development.

From the Macromedia site i stumbled accross the FuseTalk boards which to be honest look pretty damn good.

I was just wondering whether anyone from here uses this on a regualr basis or has any thoughts and opinions on what its like to work with.

Thanks for any info guys,

Rob

I use FuseTalk forums on my site. Overall I am fairly pleased. The only drawback that I have found is that it's integration with an existing login system is not very good. I have a directory area on our site that required users to register and login. I didn't want to make users have two different sets of login info. FuseTalk has the ability to integrate outside login information, but I have found that it doesn't seem to share the user information very well. People can login with their existing info, but for some reason the user data is not available in the administration area of FuseTalk.

The only other thing that I do not like about FuseTalk is the cost. It is very expensive. I bought it several years ago and didn't keep up with the upgrades. Now it is just not feasible to upgrade. I'll just keep what I have or go to a PHP solution and keep it totally separate from my CF site.

Thanks for the info buddy,

I'll give it some serious thoughts, i'm still building my User Authentication system now, so i've downloaded the Trial Edition of FuseTalk so i can build the two systems side-by-side and fingers crossed that'll make life slightly simpler.

I've thought about the use of a PHP board, but i dont like PHP. lol.

The potential for my board is quite a large number of visitors so i want somthing that is the dogs danglies, so i'm pretty FuseTalk will cater nicly too my needs.

Rob
