Hi,

How can i make this thing ?
I have a share folder to a WintowTN server 4.0 WITh Sp6 that i want to be accesed by an application and the users cannot change the contents mannualy (adding files, delete files or brow files) from windows explorer or othere files manager.

Thanks

You may create hidden share (use $ as last character). This share not browsing over network, but if direct address it (for example "net use x: \\server\hiddenshare$"), you may look it

Set the permissions on the files for readonly and deny read access to the users to the folder (don't let this propogate to your files folder or it will lock them out)

You may have to play around with the settings but it will work.
If you are writing the software you can program the software to use a different login giving the correct permissions and deny access the regular logins

hope that helps
