Just changed from Verizon FTS trunks to Qwest Networx trunks.
I am able to place calls through the new trunks but cannot be reached through the FTS network.
Am I missing something?
Qwest says that FTS ld calls should come in on my local DID trunks. I thought FTS was separate from the public network.
If the calls are being blocked by my PBX on the FTS network, How would I route them to come in on my local did trunks? I am not even seeing the calls hit the PBX.
Going to open ticket with Verizon to try to find out where the calls are being blocked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tim

FTS is just the type of network, correct? That's what I thought.

Is this a T1 or Pri? I have only worked with FTS as a long distance trunks.

FTS is a Federal Telephone Service that provides long distance service at substantialy reduced rate.
I think I finally got Qwest to realize that they are not routing things correctly.
For some reason Qwest thinks it should route from the FTS network to my local DID PRI's for incoming instead of the FTS PRI's.
Changed back to Verizon until Qwest get's an education.
Any input from anyone else?
Thanks Tim

Other than Toll Free numbers the way to get the calls to come in via your Qwest LD is to have all your sites on the same set up, then Verizon will move the calls around your "private" network. If your other sites are on a different vendor you will not be able to get the "dedicated to dedicated call" route for the calls, so sending thenm in on your regular DID routes is just as cheap. I assume your other sites are on the Verizon LD plan and not Qwest?

Yes. Thanks for the education. Thought I might be able to help you but it was the other way around.
