What's a "cart?" Tape catridge?
What kind of mainframe? I know those blue types think IBM owns the market... they don't.
On the mainframes I use you can only FTP to disk though - not removable media. But these are Unisys ClearPath NX and IX family machines (Burroughs and Sperry respectively, for the uninitiated).
Anybody here from the blue universe want to take a stab at this one?
It might help to know what kind of IBM box and OS too. I hear a lot of people call AS/400 products "mainframe" though they're more minis.
