I have a very simple Win2K FTP site set up. It is a stand-alone server not within my domain. I set up users that need to connect and create a folder in the FTProot and assign that as their local folder. This all works great. Recently I was informed that a customer could not access their specified folder via an Explorer browser. When I went to check the account all seemed fine. I could access the account via command line or an FTP program. I received an error when trying to access via the Internet. This makes no sense to me. The permissions and password are correct since I can access via other methods. Only the Internet access does not work. This is NOT the case for all the accounts. I have about 20 accounts and 4 are not accessible via the Internet.

Does the Internet access FTP differently than a command line or FTP program?

Thanks in advance.

If you can access your FTP via FTP APPZ but not IE then make sure your IE is setup right to access FTP Sites. Go to Tools, Internet Options then Advance and make sure you have Enable Folder To View FTP Site ENABLED. Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your responses. I actually figured it out. I was using obscure passwords and a couple of the passwords had @ symbols which are illegal for Internet passwords. That is why the account worked through the command line and not the Internet. Thanks again.
