I have the need to take all the folders/files on a given ftp directory and create a listing that has size, and what files are in what folders. Are there any preexisting applications out there that can do this?

If not, is there something that could be easily modified?

Have a look at the excellent module Net::FTP, and there are some good examples in the documentation iirc as well.

Ask again if you get stuck.

Lets try a different path, is there maybe something prewritten, or a little app that anyone knows about? I just need to be able to traverse a directory tree, and get a listing of the files int he directorys, their names, and their sizes.

Thanks.

Using the Net::FTP and File::Find modules, what you're talking about is a 15-20 line Perl program. There might be something pre-existing, but it'd probably be easier just to write from scratch.

I was hoping to find something. My perl skills are a little rusty right now, and I cant see devoting alot of time to figuring this out.

Ill have to see if I can give it a shot.
