Please help - I can not connect to ANY of my 4 websites anymore! It tells my FTP problem - can not access remote host

I have not changed ANYTHING! just one day everything changed and I can not access:(

need more details on the msg ie connect connect bla bla account invalid.

It pops up a window - INSTANTLY ...doesnt seem to be really taking any time to connect.....

It says
An FTP error occured - cannot make connection to host. The remote host can not be found.

The weird thing is
A. never changed anything
B. other people can access with same info
C. it dosent even seem like it is trying to connect

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

To find out if it's really a dreamweaver problem you can try connecting to your server with leechftp.
free download at:
If you can't connect with leechftp to your server you should contact your isp and ask them what could be going wrong.
I had the same problem when I changed from dial up modem to cable. It had something to do with the loss of large packages.
If you don't want to use leechftp, you can always try connecting with your browser. Just replace http with ftp in your webaddress. Normally the browser will ask your username and password.

Hope this helps

i connected via leechftp fine
so does this mean it is not my ip and it is a dreamweaver issue?

i would try to redefine the site(s) again and re-enter all the remote info. If you can connect via an ftp program then its an issue at your end.

If redefining your sites doesn't help,I would contact macromedia to see if they know what's going wrong.
In the mean time you can use leechftp to update your site.
regards, goaganesha

I think the Dreamweaver 4.01 patch addressed some connectivity issues. Have you installed it?
