FTP Backups

I have an Avaya S8720 and when attempting to manually backup the server I get the following:

THEPID is: 7413
backup: 40: FTP Error: OOPS: vsftpd: refusing to run with writable anonymous root
backup: 40: FTP of backup image to anonymous at 10.0.9.7 failed -- Backup terminated for xln
Performing ERROR RECOVERY, please wait.....
..... ERROR RECOVERY COMPLETE .....

Any Ideas?

are you trying after setting up a ras connection?

yes, the permsions/owners of the /var/home/ftp/pub directory is not correct. The only way to fix this, it to call AVAYA and have them login and change the owner of the directory...

Captain... No this is my own PBX so I am on the network.

Mitch, is there no way to change the permissions or owners of that directory without Avaya?

john82, nope, if it has the wrong ownership, dadmin or a client login won't have permision to change the directorys permission. Only AVAYA can do a "chown root:root /var/home/ftp/pub" and fix the issue.
