Hello,

On Sun Solaris 8 when performing an mput * how can I ensure that all files and sub-directories are transferred?

Thanks,

Michael42

imho, you have to use another ftp client tool such as "ncftp" which can download all files and subsidiary-directories. ncftp can be aquired from:

good luck!

There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't

Alternatively, tar up the files/directories, ftp the tar file and untar at the destination. HTH.

Thanks for the suggestions.

In this case I am trying to ftp from a VAX (vms running an IP stack) to a Sun. It is grabbing all the files but not the directories. It is placing them all in one (the top level) directory.

This is strange.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Michael42

I think the VAX has tar. I would follow KenCunningham's suggestion.
