Ok I have an issue using a new fsd to backup a server.

Server 1 backs up server 2 SQL'dbs with an agent to lto3 no problems, very fast.

Server 3 backs up server 2 SQL'dbs with an agent to local usb-fsd and I get 50MB/min. I can however do flat file backups on server 2 with the FSD and get 500MB/min.

Any thoughts, all 11.5 sp3

Loving it. Just found out about all kinds of fun with the SP2 for windows if you have a TOE capable nic installed. I turned off tcpchimney and rss and bamm my throughput is back.

It was just coincidence that I tried this the day after SP2 was installem before my regular LTO3 backup tried to ran.

I do not understand why sql backups were slow and f-files were not, but then again I don't really understand all the inner workings of the tcpip stack.

If you got a broadcomm nic in a dell watch out!
