Hi, Is there a way to identify when a media has been frozen? I see bpmedialist but does that give me the date when it was frozen? I know I can browse the logs but that takes forever.

Basically what I am trying to do is write a script to tell me what tapes where frozen the day before. so basically I dont want the tape to appear on my report every day, only once. So if the tape is frozen on a Monday it should be on Mondays report, not Tuesday as well.

Any ideas? Easy ways?

run the script called available_media and check its output. You should be able to do some scripting around it. You will find it in the ...bin/goodies folder(windows) or directory(unix)

Just because the VERITAS documentation states something as certain, that does not make it a fact and that is truth.

I dont have permission to run that, do you know what commands it runs?

google for available_media
I know there are some adapted scripting out there in the user communities. I wish you well.

I wonder if I can use the last mount date.

I mean it has to be mounted in order to be frozen no?

I dont care about time as much as date
