All,

am using OWA on my FrontEnd Exchange Server to access my email from a BackEnd Exchange Server across an Intranet Firewall.

Is the Front End authenticating to ADS through the BackEnd Server on the internal network? Or should I set up the Intranet Firewall to allow across to my Active Directory Servers via specific ports?

Thanks

Rob

Thanks for the reply. I printed out the MS articles and will look it over tonite.

What I am trying to find out is on my intranet firewall there are 3 interfaces (External, Trusted, and Optional)

The way I thought is that:

External - Connected to FE Server
Trusted - Connected to BE Server

or should it be

External - Connected to FE Server
Trusted - Connected to Internal Network (GCS, AD Server)
Optional - BE Server

Thanks

Rob
