Is an upgrade from 2000 to 2003 worth the money?? I would like to do more with databases and saw that 2003 has more emphasis on that area.

I've been beta testing it, but I can't tell you about the database portion of it since I don't use that. However, there are some really great features worth noting:

* Code optimizer. A lot of people complained that FP adds a lot of extra code or if you paste in from another program, a lot of code comes with it (like from Word). The code optimizer removes all that extra code.

* Split Code window: It has a split code window so that you can look at the code and the page at the same time. The code lines are also now numbered.

* Accessility checker. This is not as robust as I would like, but it does flag missing alt tags which is one of the most common accessibility issues.

* Browser checker. This checks for browser compatability. You can select different versions of browsers to test for.

It also has a button creator, where you can create buttons for your Web page. However, this is buggy and did not work when I used it. Hopefully they will have it resolved by final release.

For publishing, it now displays both the offline it's being published from and the site being published to. It tells you that there's a conflict (this seems to pop up when my host compacts my Web site).

The look itself is more three dimensional and a little cleaner.

One thing to consider - I got the beta version of FP 2003, and although it does have many cool features, they only run on Windows Server 2003. So if you're not planning to upgrade your server, most of the benefits are lost. There are no server extensions, for example ... it's a whole different setup.

It's too bad, since I am a FP user and don't share the low opinion of the product that most designers seem to have ... but it's not very cool of Microsoft to sell a product that has such a high (hidden) cost.
