Howdy?

Could someone give me any comment on the plan?
Plan is follow
Server1, exchange(OWA,SSL,FBA enabled), website
Server2, DC, fresh exchange installed
Server3, DC, fresh exchange installed

what i try to do is move all mailboxes from server1 to server2 or server3 as back end server.
then try to setup server1 as front end server and website only.

but my concern is what is the procedure to implement all this. I dont want any downtime and I might do at weekend night.

i have tested exchange redirection on exchange servers so that they lookup thru Active directory to find mailbox.
ex)for A mailbox that reside on server2, I can access thru while i test.

Any idea would be appreciated. i have to get the job done per boss. :D

My every answer is
"There seems to be no pattern of when this problem occurs."
for Users.. :p

My first comment would be "Don't do it". Putting Exchange on a DC is not supported by Microsoft and can create all sorts or problems.

Hope this helps.

thanks for reply.

cmeagan656:because of cost restriction, we put it together for couple clients for couple years. no problem. but I knew it not recommend

58sniper:maybe 150 to 200 users. but fact is that server1 host website which hitted around 14000 visitors a day. that's why we try to make it separate and load balancing too.

Any idea?

A single dedicated Exchange box would be fine. Exchange doesn't do "load balancing" unless you have multiple servers with the users split among them (which isn't really true load balancing - just splitting them up).
