Hi Guys,

I have a Windows NT 4.0 workstation that freezes when you try to shut the computer down. (Start -> Shutdown). There are no viruses, and no recent hardware or software changes. Any ideas how to tackle this? Thanks!

Hi!
try disabling active desktop and press Ctrl alt & delete and go to task manager and end task. Also look in processes and see whats running behind the scenes a good pointer to programs running in the background.

Hope this is of use!

I had this on a several NT4 Workstation PCs in my organisation. I sorted it by upgrading the workstations in question to Service Pack 6.

It worked for me, what can I say.

If in doubt, chuck it out!
