FREEZES "Installing MDAC componants" 2

I have unistalled Backup Exec v7.3 for NT and now I can not reinstall it.

When I attempt it it stalls whilst installing the MDAC componants.

since the original installation of BENT the only additional
installation on this server has been Norton Antivirus Corp Edition v7.5

I have deleted traces of the original installation from the registry and stopped NAV services before installing.

Has anyone had this problem, any help would be very gratefully appreciated.

I would try to download the MS component checker and apply the MDAC with that.
Iformation about the correct use of the Component checker is in the readme.
After you done this, try installing Backup Exec again.
Also be sure that you have build 2575 of Backup Exec 7.3.

Thanks for all your help

I eventually resolved this problem by installing the latest MDAC componants downloaded from Microsoft.

I was then able to proceed with the installation without any problem.
