Hello,

I am a complete VoIP noob and I don't have a solid grasp as to what I am doing or how it is doing it. Now that this fact is out of the way, I can begin to tell you my project and issue.

The project is that I must connect a new FreePBX 14 to our existing Mitel 3300 system and to my understanding it's just defining two systems to one another.

All started fine as I started to put pieces together and we began to get working internal extension calls, ex 178801(test ext on FreePBX) to my personal extension at 4109(ext in Mitel) but then I had to test making an outside call. ex. long distance calls, local calls, 1800, 1888, etc. and it never routes out. Just tells me that the number is not in service when I call my own cellphone or anything I defined before.

I know I didn't specify much, but what could I be missing? Or how would you go about this from start to finish? If you need any other information let me know and I will get it to you ASAP.

Thank you!!

you may be able to run sip tcpdump on the 3300 to see the flow. What leading digit accesses ars in the 3300 and is it inserted in the asterisk box?

where are the trunks connected ( mitel or free)
if you ar etrying to make an outside call from the free down the sip trunk to the mitel and then out of a trunk on the mitel you need to

- send the full number with the access code that the mitel is using to the mitel system

allow trunk to trunk connections

make sure the cor of the trunk is allowed to dial out

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
