Free space available in araw device

Hi all

I have acustomer that use an AIX 4.3.3 on RS/6000 system,he uses on this machine oracle database.He uses raw device (logical volume) for his storage.His DBA is asking how can he determine how much free space available in the lv .
I tried to figure out this question in the standard aix commands but not succesfull. maybe someone have an answer or maybe the answer is that there is no way to know the free space available on a logical volume

There is no way from AIX to determine the free space in a raw logical volume. Since AIX does not manage the space other than how large the total available space is, it does not know what is used and what is not used. The amount of used/free space should be determined in oracle. You should be able to ask in the oracle forum how to do that.
