Anyone know a free php server (php/mysql) where sites can be tried out, and perhaps live for a while, please?

Many thanks, bam720. Will watch out for that. Cheers.

Hi all! I love this thread and have been keeping an eye on it, and I just ran into a free php/mysql hosting site that I had to share. It looked "too good to be true" but I've successfully registered for a free account and I'm very impressed with the performance of the site and control panel. I registered at Byethost on the recommendation of this thread and find that this new place is bigger, faster, and more reliable. Not to mention a more tasteful primary domain for your subdomain:

Yes, it is 5 gig of free webspace, 10 mysql databases, ftp access, all the good stuff. Haven't tried smtp or mail() or anything like that yet but everything looks really good with this place. Hope this helps!

Many thanks, ecwcee. will try it. i'm keep stumbling at the first fence in these other places, not being at sure that it isn't part of the plan. that one runs out of patience and moves to the paid part. many thanks
paul
