I just now finished my program and just as I was about to package it, I remembered that I wanted a customized graphical representation made for it. All the programs I've tried to find for it are shareware. Are there any programs out there that are completely free? Maybe just a bmp to ico converter?

Sorry, AladdinsGenie1, I looked and could only find the shareware updated version of that program. I found some other programs though. I took RebeccaLynn's advice with Pic2Icon. It seems to work pretty well. Because of it, I'm finished with my program.
If the authors have withdrawn the free version it appears to be immoral (at least) and possibly illegal to send copies of old versions around, unless your license specifically permits it.

I don't think that an author can release something as freeware then expect to say you can't use it anymore. Once software enters the freeware arena, it's freeware.
Sure, the next version might not be freeware, but that freeware version is always a freeware version.
Shareware and trialware are not freeware though...

Agree entirely, Tuna. My point was that even with freeware, there is a license, which may or may not permit redistribution.

i hope that u all guys must have heard of an imaging software called IrfanView, its absolutely free and does most of stuff, like converting any image type to Icon, or any icon to any type of image and much much more like this.
And its available in many languages as well...
