I recently upgraded to AutoCAD 2004, and just found out that they've started charging money for VoloView (older, free versions of VoloView don't handle AutoCad 2004). I've got many clients who need to see my dwg-files, but it's not an option for them to spend money to see one single drawing. Aren't there any free dwg/autocad 2004 viewers out there?

Thx.

Hi,

Try the new Express Viewer which is free from AutoCAD. Go to the website as below:

.....and download it from the Downloads >> Viewers page..

This will handle 2004 DWF files, not DWG though. But all you need to do is plot the drawing to DWF (check the help files)..

Either that or purchase (I know that word is poison, but it'll be worth it in the long run) a copy of Acrobat Professional, so you can create PDFs of your drawings. Although the program is kind of expensive, it's well worth it for the stuff you can do with for now and in the future. And with PDFs, the viewer can see the drawing exactly as the draughtsperson intended..
