Freaky Keystroke Problem

I'm guessing someone has come across this and knows the solution. It's
happened in powerpoint and now in outlook. While typing overly fast, I've
discovered a combination of keystrokes that turns all newly typed letters
into the font SimSun. Even if I delete back to the original font, it auto
switches back to this SimSun font. I highlighted the whole area around it
and changed the font. This fixed it when in Outlook, but didn't in
Powerpoint. I couldn't at all figure it out in Powerpoint.

Any ideas on the cause and proper fix for this?

I have never heard of the problem before. My first thought would be to check to see if you have a hidden macro causing the problem.

Yup...kinda wacky.
You might try Start>Find>Files/Folders....type in simsun.ttf. When found, rename the file to, say, simsun.sun. Take it out of action and see what effect this has (you can always restore the .ttf extension if need be).
