frames and links? 1

Lo all
i was wondering if you can open 2 frames within a site from 1 link.
i want to ba able to change main(frame) and banner(frame) by clicking on a link in the left frame.
this might sound a little stupid but i have my reasons
can i do this.

i've tried to use onopen in the top frame so wen that opens it opens the main frame page but it won't work or i'm doing it wrong?
any suggestions?

using front page 2002, but don't mind playing with html

could you take me through this step by step sorry

page1.html is the page that will open in target frame1
this much i got
but the onlick do i need a button for this?
can i use text as the hyperlink?
if so were do i put the text, at the end?

and sorry but do i put parent or do i use the framset name?
again frame2 i'm guessing is the frame i want my page to open in i.e main, banner,...
location ????
and the href is want i want opening in that frame?

sorry but never realy played with java??

Sorry for confusing you, you got most of it. Just paste this in to your page where you want the link. Change page1.html and page2.html where you see them to the names of the page you want. Also, change frame1 to the name of the frame that page1.html should open in and frame2 to the name of the frame that page2.html should open in:
