Hi Guys,

I was wondering if I could get some help here. I work for a small finance company (small network 20 pc's) not the ownership is thinking about getting Frame Relay and Broad Band to set that up on a cisco router. I do have basic knowledge how to set things up, but have never think of this.

They want both in case there is a Broad Band outage (which we get in this area a lot) the Frame can take over automatically so that there is no downtime. Is this possible and if it is what would be the easiest configuration for it?

Thank you in advance

yes that is possible. you can use VRRP (virtual router redundancy protocal) with cisco equipment. need dual WICs and make sure the router can handle that protocal. i think the 2800 can.

Thanks for the info. We got everything set up for it but I'm unsure where to start and how to start it. I only have very basic knowledge on how to set stuff up on Cisco Routers.

Are there any documents that will guide me through the process? I checked Google but wasn't able to find what I need.

Router is 1841 and the extra WIC is: WIC 1 DSU 56k

Actually, a floating static route would be the best way...

If there are problems with NAT clearing active xlates, then you could

1)KRON to cleare xlates every minute (shortest time interval available for KRON)

OR

2)NAT to a loopback address

Ok that all sounds good but where do I start :-\
