I have a customer that has a FRAD that no one knows the password. Is there a reset procedure that can be performed so I can add the normal password and program the FRAD?

Open it up, short out the CAP, this will defualt the rad. Run 9** set password.

When in doubt RTFM (read the friggin manual)

Since I am not on site and have to talk customer through resetting the FRAD, I thought there might be a prcedure that I could have the customer perform. I can't find anything in my "friggin manual" about shorting out cap. What page is that on?????

Not in any book, there are 2 faq's you could try, I don't know if they work. FAQ 799-1997, 799-3013.

When in doubt RTFM (read the friggin manual)

Thanks..........I found the 2 faq's. I even have a third one that we tried with no luck. I will try these two and see if they work. I will post if one works.

Here you go. I used to reset by shorting it out. This works great!!

Set date to April 15, 1999

Feature 9 * *
Hit left soft key 5 times
Hit center soft key 6 times
Hit right soft key 8 times
Press HOLD key
Press digit 2
Press digit 1
Press Release
RESET DATE
Enter RAD using 9 * * and configure NEW PASSWORD AND SYSTEM ID

Thank you chiden

I will try this. It seems to show up more often then anything else. I can talk a customer through this but trying to tell a non knowing to open up a frad and short a cap is not what I want to do. I might do it if I was on site and all else failed.

Thanks to all for the help and suggestions.
