Hi all,

I am about to sign a contract for a fractional PRI (16 channels).

Just want to make sure this will work with the BCM and what the mechanics of the DTM configuration would be.

Would I just go in and uncheck some of the lines in the "provision lines" tab of the DTM-PRI module's settings

(RESOURCES > TELEPHONY RESOURCES > DTM-PRI MODULE > FOURTH TAB)

I was thinking that I could just leave the settings the same as a full PRI. However, then I thought more about it. The incoming calls would probably work OK because they come in on the lesser numbered physical lines. But outgoing calls grab the lowest available line. So if my system thought I had 23 channels instead of 17 then that would mean it would be trying to grab a channel that wasn't active.

Right?

Also, I think perhaps I should also go to

ADMINISTRATION > TELEPHONY METRICS

Click on the trunk module

Then disable the appropriate B-channels?

I don't remember if in the BCM you also had to go to B Channel Link Status and disable the link for each B.

The MICS you would Deprovision the channels and then go to Link status and tear down the Link for each Channel you don't want to use.

Every once in a while the telco will hand me a fractional PRI that will only work right if I leave all 23 channels provisioned in my BCM too. Go figure.
