FPD 2.6 - Tracking changes in a record

What options are available for logging user’s changes in a record (who changed what, and when)?. It probably can be done tediously using a VALID clause in the @GET and creating an amendments file with fields such as RecordID, Varread, username, oldvalue(Memo) , newvalue(Memo) and datetime.

Is there a better way?

There are better ways but all involve comparable amounts of tedious work. FPD doesn't maintain a transaction log or an audit trail for you.

While there are products for VFP like FoxAudit (

you'd have to design your program to do your own auditing in FPD and FPW.
