Did anyone ever achieve stability running an FP 2.6 DOS application in W2K3 SP1 and Citrix PS4 with hyper-threading turned on? I'm also using Tame to keep the resources in line.

So far I've been able to stabilize it by downgrading to Windows 2000 SP4 and turning off hyper-threading.

Anyone have other experiences?

I am converting a system to run on Citrix. There are only 4 remote users using so far with no problems so far. What is Hyper threading and where is the setting located?

I am having problems trying to direct printing to certain printers. Have you come across this?

Hyper-Threading Technology (HTT) is Intel's trademark for their implementation of the simultaneous multithreading technology on the Pentium 4 microarchitecture. It is basically a more advanced form of Super-threading that first debuted on the Intel Xeon processors and was later added to Pentium 4 processors. The technology improves processor performance under certain workloads by providing useful work for execution units that would otherwise be idle, for example during a cache miss. If your server CPUs support the feature then it can be turned on or off in the BIOS of the server.

Printing.... hmmm... I just run a logon script for the application that maps a session LPT port to a network printer I have in my citrix environment. If your users are connecting remotely and want to use their own printers then you would have to map the LPT port to an autocreated user's printer. But for that you have to work some scripting magic and some logic to get the session name and then try to map.
I never had the need to do this so can't help you there.

I think you have done it similar to this "net use lpt1: \\servername\printername" command to map user printer. It works fine but at a time only one user can print not all user.If the other user run the script the first user get disconecte.

Am I right ?
