Hello,

I new in this forum, and did register today.

Have some applications done with foxpro for Windows 2.5 and was working all good until Windows 7.

Can run them on windows 7.

Is there an upgrade, like the one for Windows XP?

Can anyone help me?

Thank you,

I have been able to run Foxpro 2.5 Windows and DOS stuff in Windows 7. So the short answer is yes, it can be done.
Granted, I had to do a little reworking of some code, but nothing major.

What specifically are you having trouble with?

Of course, the best scenario is to upgrade to VFP 9...

Thank you for your replay.
And sorry for my late response.
I´m Portuguese, and we are changing VAT on the programs.

The problem is not on Win7 32bits.

The problem is on Win7 64bits.

And its the same problem that appered with Windows XP 32bits.

That time, someone made a pacht to upgrade our Foxprow 2.5 for Windows to run normally on Win 32bits.

Is there a pacht also to upgrade our Foxprow to run normally on Win 64bits.

Thank you very much for your answer.

Hope you have a soluction for me.

The 'Patch' to FP2.5 you are referring to is not specifically for Windows (any version).

Instead it is for older versions of FP to run on faster computers/processors.

Good Luck,

Yes, that is true.

What I was asking, is:

Is there another 'Patch' do make fpw 2.5 / 2.6 to work in Pc´s using Windows 7 64bits??

Thank you very much all

JSantos

There is no single "PATCH" to make things work for you.

However after some Googling I see that if you run your application in 32-bit compatibility mode it should work.

NOTE - I have not done this myself so I am just echoing what I have read.

Good Luck,

Thank you,

Yes, my applications work nice on Windows XP, Vista 32bits

I´ll try to run some testes on Win 7 64bits.

I was also reading some other adds about this subject and give some clues to try to solve the problem.

Thanks a lot for your replay,

In 2/3 days i´ll replay to tell about my experiences.

Best of luck to all

It seems like Foxplus does not work on 64-bit Windows 7. I have an old app written for Foxplus and I ended up downloading DosBox ( which seems to be some kind of DOS emulator. I installed it and had my old app up and running in about 5 minutes. Maybe you could try that?

Thank you very much.

I´ll try that on this weekend.
Send you a reply after to let you know how it runs.
Thank you once more
