I just upgraded my development computer running WinXP Pro OS. All applications including Foxpro apps run correctly. Now, when I open a FoxPro DOS 2.6 project for editing and compiling, the project manager locks up about 50% of the time. This occurs during editing of the PRGs or preparing to compile the project. Once locked up, the mouse still works. During the remaining time, the PRGs can be edited and compiled, the project can be compiled into an EXE, and the EXE runs without any problems.

When the lockup occurs, the DOS window is forced to close with the window 'X' resulting sometimes in the trashing of some PRGs and the project files.

This is not a good thing...

Thanks for the support...

Try search here "foxpro" and "dualcore CPU".
There is workaround - you must run fox only in one CORE.

I downloaded IMAGECFG.EXE as per thread 182-126245 and followed the procedure and it worked great. On a two processor machine, problems controlling the DOS window cause the lockup. By running IMAGECFG.EXE, the second CPU was deactivated for DOS windows, thereby, eliminating the problem of running the project manager on a two CPU machine. If you are unable to verify the time and date of the changes to NTVDM as mentioned in the thread, perform the directory listing before running NTVDM.exe. This will confirm the revised NTVDM is available prior to running NTVDM.EXE. It must be noted that the original problem did not occur when running the compiled EXE - the problem appears to be only related to the project manager running in a DOS window of a two processor machine.

Once again, thanks....
