I am trying to launch a Foxpro DOS based application in terminal services and get the following message:

Video Device Failed to Initialize for Fullscreen Mode

Microsoft suggest:
1. Open the properties of the shortcut to the MS-DOS-based program.
2. On the General tab, click to clear the Read-only check box if it is selected.
3. Click the Screen tab, click Window, and then click OK.

I have tried this with no joy.

I wonder whether there maybe a configuration setting in foxpro that forces the app to open in fullscreen mode?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think it's a problem with your "Video Device".
Verify if it is not a problem with your video driver.
Check the Settings of the Display Properties.
I think the error "Video Device Failed to Initialize for Fullscreen Mode" appear when the display try to initialize the display in Full Screen - DOS Mode.
Can you open the "Command Prompt"? In Full Screen or in Windows?

I think in terminal services it is not possible. I use VNC, before I used CloseUp and both doesn't support this.

Thanks for your response everyone.
The cause was actually a little exe called by this 3rd party app.
All this exe does is attempt to display a logo which has an adverse effect.
Remove this exe (it is not mandatory) and it loads OK.
