I am currently using a foxpro 2.6 program to EDI my invoices. I need to EDI credit memos also, but my program wont recognize negative quantities or negative dollar amounts. Is it possible to use my current program with modifications? I need to make the necessary changes so I can EDI credits. It company that wrote the origional program has gone out of business. Thanks Sheila

Sheila,
The answer is maybe. Do you have the program's source code? When you bought the application, did you explicitly pay for the source rights? If not, then you're probably going to need to have the program rewritten.

When you say "use my current program with modifications" I will assume that you do have the source code and that you can make program changes. If so, the Yes, you can make the FoxPro program do whatever you need.

So far I have written EDI programs which handle Order Entry, ASN, and Invoicing. Again assuming that you know the EDI requirements and how to represent the negative numbers within the appropriate EDI Output document, then you can certainly make the necessary changes to the FoxPro application.

Good Luck,

Sheila,

There are many things at play here. As mentioned before,Do you own the source code? Is the this software also your translator? If not, what translator are you using? I have worked with various EDI transaction sets in FOXPRO. If you want, you can contact me for other information.
