How do you set up four digit dialing between sites?

Do you have tie lines between the sites and do these sites have conflicting numbers?

Yes. We have tie lines and no they are not conflicting.

CDP customer dialling plan is in load 87. Using this method allows you to direct a number or range of numbers over a route. I also gives you the flexibility of deleting or inserting digits, using the digit manipulation tables.

Here is what a CDP'd DN looks like;

Local Opt.81
LD 87
REQ prt
CUST 0
FEAT cdp
TYPE dsc
DSC 3008
(return)

DSC 3008
FLEN 0
DSP LSC
RLI 12
NPA
NXX

All our DID's and trunks reside on the central Opt.81. When we get a request for a new employee, we CDP the number from the 81 to a far end Opt.11, where the new employee's phone is set up. The far end option 11's tandem back to the central Opt.81 for dialing to the outside world. It really is easier than it sounds.

Eddies example above is for a single DN.
But if you have unique dialing plans,
i.e. 3000 series there and say 2000 series local,
you can forward the entire 3000 - 3999 by entering only 3.

i.e.
DSC 3
FLEN 0
DSP LSC
RLI 12
NPA
NXX

You will be working with LD 86 and ld 87. LD 86 you will build your RLI (Route List Index#) and your DMI (Digit Manipluation), which you may not need.

Build a your rli (prompt in LD 86 is RLB) to point at the route to your switch.

In LD 86 you may have to change your ESN settings too? As eddie stated, it is easier than it sounds.

Any questions while programming just ask!

Thanks to all!!! I'll try this out tomorrow and see how it goes..
