IP Office 412 2.1.27. The forwarding options (follow me, unconditional, no answer) work on some of our stations but not others. It is even peculiar on the some of the ones that do work. On one station - I tried to forward no answer which did not work. Then forward unconditional on that station which did work. Then I set it back to forward no answer and that worked. I am setting the forwarding options in Phone Manager. They are showing up on the IP Office - so the settings are getting there.

I was able to forward to an internal (4 digit) extension earlier but now it does not work from that same phone.

Avaya support has looked at our config and has no explanation at this point. I rebooted the control unit last night without any improvement in forwarding.

We have been up and running on IP Office for 2 weeks now. I don't think that is a factor however but could be -- maybe some pilot error.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Avaya support had no explanation?!? Strange

Forwarding in Phone Manager 2.1 is one big bug, and cannot really be used in real world.

Try controlling the forwarding options by shortcodes instead, and it will work like a charm!

You mean *01 and *02 and *07*N on the telephone right?

Doesn't work either.

Avaya just got back to me again and said I should upgrade the control unit again. Even though it is at 2.1.27 they want me to do it anyway.

Thanks.

Sounds even more strange!

If the shortcodes really doesn't work, and the shortcodes are correct, I would default the unit completely. Both config and bin.

If it's a smaller system, I would also rebuild the cfg from scratch.

But I have a hard time understanding that the shortcodes doesn't work...

Oooook. Maybe I'll try to upgrage first as Avaya suggested. I wasn't expecting to have these problems with a brand new phone system! Thanks again.

personaly I would be supprised if a 2nd upgrade would make much difference.

If you can get the down time it may be worth taking a copy of your CFG then defaulting the unit to see if the problem still happens.

If all works OK in default then I am afraid you have some programming errors.

be especialy carefull of ileagle characters in user nanes & duplicates (or even near matches ie long 1st names)

yeth, be especialy careful of beagles and typose. They will cause weird erors that will drive you inane.

not to mention the ribbing that certain members enjoy dishing out ;-p

Guess I will have to type my posts in word & then spell check 1st.

ROTFL :)

No please don't spell check, you'll be denying the community a great source of entertainment! ;-)
