Hi there,

After some staff reshuffling, there are a few phones here with no user. However, rather than eliminate the extensions and the associated voice boxes, management is looking for a way to have all invomcing calls and messages forwarded to other accounts. The only problem with Feature 4 is that voice mail ends up in the original message box. Any idea of how to set this up?

If you have an ICS system, try disabling the set in Maintenance. See if that bounces the calls to reception/gerneral delivery mail box or which ever is the prime set for your lines.

Let us know how you make out.

Check in programming under capabilities to make sure these unused sets are not forwarded to the voicemail DN using call forward-busy or call forward-no answer. If so just change to NO forwarding. Then using F4 should work to forward calls to other extensions.

Actually, they were looking to avoid having the calls being sent to general delivery and being sent to a specified individiual instead. Also, it's not just a matter of having the calls forwarded, but also of having any messages left being sent to another message box as well (The call forwarding is working fine). Currently, we just forward the calls and check the old voice mail periodically for messages. Just trying to improve on this system for convenience's sake.

Thanks.
